ssignmentZero is an open source report on a single subject. Similar to open-source software, where different people contribute a featur or features towards creating a complete computer program, AssignmentZero is a process where many people contribute to create one full story on a subject.

AssignmentZero was founded recently by WIRED News and new.assignment.net � a non-profit research project run by New York University's Department of Journalism. It will be developed by its founders and anybody else who is interested. The project is to have multiple amateur contributors, led by a handful of professionals, who will support and direct the journalistic process. For this reason, it has been dubbed 'Pro-Am' journalism by its founders. ... more
