A touch of class

t has always been an object of desire. And more often than not, it has also been something that is part of the family heirloom, �dad�s prized possession,� that is passed on to the son. The Mercedes Benz has always remained tantalisingly out of reach, thanks to its pricing.

The C-Class Mercedes, when launched the world over in 2001, positioned itself as a sporty and youthful car, targeted at young executives, who perhaps could not identify with the older and classy image of the Merc, though they desired it all the same. To wean this segment away from the Jaguars and the BMWs, the C-Class Merc combined elegance with dynamism (with the C200 Kompressor and C220 CDI versions being the most economical in the range). ... more
