om and Jerry and Popeye are cartoon programmes that are not just a hit with children but adults as well. Keeping this audience in mind Cartoon Network launched Boomerang, a two-hour block from 9-11 PM (Sunday-Friday), especially for the 15+ age group.
Ironically for a channel whose primary target is 4-14 years, 50 per cent of its audience is over 15 years of age and 30-40 per cent of this is over 25. Almost 40 per cent of this adult audience are women - mothers who watch the channel along with the kids.... more
