here are many local events or news that are hard to come by. To cater to this need, NDTV, which is in expansion mode, has launched MetroNation, Delhi's first local channel in English. The punch-line and the USP of the free-to-air channel (currently not available on DTH) is: Starring Delhi, Every Second, Every Day.
According to Prannoy Roy, chairman, NDTV, the channel will complement the English newspapers in the city. "There are five million English newspaper readers in Delhi. We are targeting this readership. Also, it will give an opportunity to local retailers and advertisers, who don't want to advertise on national channels, to reach out to this audience," he says.
