okia Research Centre in collaboration with Reuters has developed a new mobile application which will help journalists file stories and publish them from any part of the world. The application developed after extensive research by the two organisations. Journalists at the news agency have tried out the new application and have begun putting it to use. The application loaded on to a mobile device, can be used to file text, images as well as live and recorded videos that can be reproduced in broadcast quality. All of this can be done from the field itself. As an extension to the application, Reuters has also developed a mobile editorial interface which links the platform to the in-house editorial process thus speeding the process of filing a story and even publishing it, if required. Intended for professionals, the application has the potential to revolutionise and contribute to the concept of citizen journalism as well.
