n-taxi advertising in China has successfully become the new engagement vehicle creating a connect between advertisements and niche target groups. Touchmedia � an outdoor interactive media company based in China - has installed close to 3,000 interactive screens affixed to the headrests of taxis in the city of Shanghai. The screens, which are touch sensitive play videos and ads and also have icons that connect the user to brands and selected content.
Audience activity on this platform can be measured and the data is shared with marketers allowing them to analyse the return-on-investment. Statistics from Touchmedia suggests that 89 per cent passengers made use of the interactive screens. The brand icons attracted close to 2,00,000 to 3,50,000 viewers.
