rito Lay, the chip brand, owned by PepsiCo is embarking on an ecofriendly initiative which would change its manufacturing operations reducing wastage of energy. A new snack variant, the environmentally chip will be created in the process. Like most companies, Pepsico is striving to establish its ecofriendly credentials reiterating their commitment to the global green revolution. The change in operations would result in taking its Casa Grande plant off the power grid and run it almost on renewable fuels and recycled water. Pepsico has identified a marketing opportunity in sync with its environment friendly processing initiative. The company intends to advertise that its popular sun chips are made using solar energy. PepsiCo is incidentally one of the biggest buyers of renewable energy credits in the US. Frito Lay as a group is increasingly focussing on sustainable productivity.... more
