ith the belief that regional news channels will give the biggies on the national stage a run for their money in the coming years, Sahara Samay is gearing up to mark territory in almost 31 cities across the country.
Sahara India Pariwar launched Sahara Samay Rashtriya, its free-to-air 24-hour national news channel in Hindi, along with Sahara Samay Uttar Pradesh in April 2003. Since then it has added two more - Sahara Samay Madhya Pradesh/Chattisgarh and Sahara Samay Mumbai. By November 2004 the group plans to roll out in Bihar, Rajasthan, Delhi and the National Capital Region. Alongside, Sahara Samay is giving final touches to its plans to launch a Bangla news channel in Kolkata by February 2005. There are plans to have at least 38 news channels in its bouquet in the next two years.
