e�ve all learnt about hyperbole, a figure of speech in which exaggeration is used for emphasis or effect, in school. These days some doughty advertisers are putting it to good use.

In a way Fevicol set off the trend. Remember the chicken and egg ad? Sanity might not permit one to believe that an egg can break a metal vessel, but viewers lapped it up. Then came the �hen�, �cliffhanger�, �shadow�, �bus� and �train journey� commercials that spoke less about wood and furniture, and more about the rub-off that Fevicol�s stickiness has on people and objects in close proximity. ... more
