hile being a "family eating-out place" that offers friendly service helps, Pizza Hut�s positioning as a chain that reflects Indian values and caters to local tastes has worked well for the company. From the �arranged marriage� ad campaign to the Chettinad and Tandoori range of pizzas, Pizza Hut has tried to stay relevant to the Indian consumers. Now, it has slashed the prices of its offerings by 8-30 per cent.

While its Pan Pizzas (Pizza Hut�s signature six-inch pizza) are priced between Rs 50 and Rs 130 now (against Rs 65-140 previously), a medium pizza starts at Rs 95 as against Rs 130 earlier. A family pizza is available at Rs 395 instead of the earlier Rs 495. Soups are priced at Rs 25-35 and salads at Rs 40-50. Driving the initiative is the �50-rupee pizza�. (Pizza Hut has been offering the Pan Pizza for Rs 50 since March 2004 under the PAN 4 All scheme that gives away four vegetarian pizzas for Rs 200.) ... more
