ahara India Pariwar has unveiled its new unified brand, SaharaOne, that will bring to its fold the four major business interests of the group - that of motion pictures, radio, television and special projects. Over the next three years the group will invest Rs 1,500 crore in what it describes as "the most ambitious plan ever drawn up in the Indian film and entertainment industry". In the words of Satish Menon, president, sales, marketing and distribution, SaharaOne Television, this is an attempt by the Sahara group to "achieve economies of scale".
As part of the restructuring exercise, the company has appointed global management firms, KPMG and Ernst & Young, to help develop synergies in these four businesses. The company has also drawn up elaborate plans for each of the four business divisions. Sahara India Media Entertainment Management, headed by Shailendra Singh, joint managing director, Percept IMC (a 50:50 joint venture between Sahara India and Percept Group), will act as the management company for all the group�s initiatives under SaharaOne.
