newly wed couple, fresh from their marital vows, step out of the church and walk to a waiting limo, when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) parked nearby catches the groom�s attention. He dithers just that bit, then tugs the surprised bride out of the limo towards the SUV that has caught his fancy. The bride complies but not before peeling the �Just Married� card off the limo and planting it happily on the back of the casually-appropriated SUV.
Thus goes the recent television commercial for Mahindra & Mahindra�s SUV brand, Scorpio. Nothing out of the ordinary here, but for a minor detail. The newly-weds are unmistakably Anglo-Saxon right down to their manicured toenails, and the film is ostensibly set somewhere in the western hemisphere. However, the SUV in question is a wholly homegrown brand. Of proudly indigenous design, let it be added.
