oke CEO Neville Isdell announced that the company will increase its annual global marketing budget by $350-$400 million beginning next year. Isdell made it clear that these funds would go directly to brand building versus price breaks and production fees. Coke is said to be keen to reproduce the iconic advertising that made it one of USA�s pre-eminent marketers. Two new creatives by McCann Erickson offices overseas, debuted at the meeting. One was a Christmas ad that will air in the US. It showed people helping each other during the holiday season by giving up their seat on a bus and picking up groceries that had spilled. Tagline: "Let�s make the season a little better." The second spot was aimed at the overseas Muslim community. Incidentally, it is the markets outside the US that will get to enjoy a significant portion of the increased ad spend.... more
