Just look at the developments. Over the past year, South Korean Lotte Confectionery has acquired a roughly 80 per cent stake in Parry�s Confectionery, part of the Murugappa group. ITC has turned seriously active in adult confectionery with Mint-O, a brand it acquired a few years ago from Candico. And though still small in confectionery, ITC�s sheer size, determination and distribution clout make rivals nervous.
