his one�s nothing like you�ve seen on television lately. No adorable kids, no cute dogs, no poetry and no bright and sunny skies. But what the ad for Nokia�s N-Gage QD lacks in "awww", it makes up for in awe. Especially if you happen to see it on 70 mm.
The ad, conceived by Bates Advertising, opens to a dark, bleak and rainy day, as two gangs face off for a street fight in what seem like the back alleys of Mumbai. Two young gamers, with N-Gage in their hands, take their stance. Their chosen warriors ready for a duel while music reminiscent of the classic action video game Mortal Kombat plays in the background. Dressed like characters out of a Hong Kong flick and a Mortal Kombat-like fighting style, the warriors charge at each other. The battle rages as the gamers hammer at their key pads, only to be interrupted when one of them stops to answer a call on his gaming phone. As the warriors disengage and the other gamer waits with obvious displeasure for his opponent to get off the phone, the voiceover declares, "Choose the right weapon to win the fight. N-Gage anyone, anywhere."
