ust when you thought you have had enough of retro advertising, here comes a semi-retro ad by McDonald�s. Conceptualised by Leo Burnett, the TVC, which went on air earlier this month, takes a slight detour from the last "What your bahana is?" campaign. This time the area of focus is price.
The campaign is built around five capsule-sized (20-22 seconds) commercials with five different film star look-alikes - that of Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna and Sanjeev Kumar. In each of the films, the characters walk out of their sepia- toned films into McDonald�s outlets and in their inimitable style ask for the Happy Price Menu. To their amazement they find the food available at a price (Rs 20) that could have been from a bygone era. The value-for-money proposition has been smartly phrased in the tagline "hamare zamane ke damo mein". All the films end with the characters gushing over the food with "I�m lovin� it".
