Poor show

NBC had a rough 2004, with primetime total viewership down 13 per cent versus the previous year and Fox announcing a new network targeting the same business news audience. Now CNBC may soon be under a new leadership in the US. New York Daily News and New York Post both reported that chief executive Pamela Thomas-Graham, who�s held the post since 2001, may well be on her way out.

The network�s average primetime viewership in the US slid to 1.6 lakh last year, in part due to prolific programming flops such as John McEnroe�s talk show. Total day viewership slipped 21 per cent. Since 2000, CNBC�s viewership has decreased by some 60 per cent. The speculation is that Thomas-Graham�s departure could be part of a larger executive shakeup at NBC Universal.
