MCG major Procter & Gamble is set to acquire Gillette globally in a $57-billion deal. The "unique opportunity", as P&G; describes it, not only makes it the largest stable of consumer brands, it brings as many as 21 brands, all billion-dollar plus, under one roof. The P&G-Gillette; combine will be the second biggest in the industry globally with annual sales topping about $60 billion, slightly behind Nestl� SA with sales of $65 billion and ahead of Unilever�s $48 billion.
