ndreas Gellner, managing director, adidas India, says that the company would double its revenue in India this year. It was only last year that adidas, which had put its India operations on the back burner for almost as long as it�s been here, started to get its act together (The Brand Reporter, October 1-15, 2004). As part of this act, it recently launched a new range of technical running shoes, which includes the Adistar, Supernova and Response families. It simultaneously began a six-city tour of its patented Footscan technology on March 11 in Delhi.

The tour that will go on till April 13 will cover Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. "By bringing the Footscan programme to key cities across the country, we�re trying to give every customer the opportunity to experience adidas� revolutionary technology first hand," said Gellner in a prepared note. "Through Footscan they can understand the particular needs of their foot and the features they must consider when purchasing footwear to maximise their potential," he added.... more
