here�s always a buzz surrounding any new car launch. But when Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) unveiled the Toyota Innova late in February, interest levels were unusually high. For one, the new car is not something simply picked off Toyota�s international bestseller list, but is an entirely new product. For another, the new car is, in effect, a substitute to Toyota�s bestselling model in India, the Qualis.
Once the Innova had been unveiled to the public, the questions only multiplied. For going by appearances, the Innova doesn�t bear any resemblance to the squarish, easily recognisable multi-purpose vehicle it is purportedly replacing. A cross between a sedan, an estate and an MPV, the Innova looks more a car for the personal segment than the Qualis could ever hope to be.... more
