yundai Motors India (HMI) launched Tucson (pronounced Too-Sawn) in the capital earlier this month and also introduced its new managing director, Steve S Yang, who was earlier with Hyundai�s China operations. The SUV derives its name from an Arizona city in the USA which means "spring at the foot of the black mountain". "Tucson is an amalgamation of toughness, safety and comfort," said Yang at the launch.

Tucson has a 2-litre CRDi (common rail diesel) engine. The company says that this helps in providing smoothness, quietness and fuel economy. The SUV also has a electronic and a manual four-wheel drive. It operates like this. When the speed of the vehicle exceeds 40 km the electronic four-wheel drive takes control if the option is activated. When the speed drops below 40 km it is the manual transmission which comes to force.... more
