raditional television and newspaper advertising is in "excellent health", according to Zenith Optimedia, which has upgraded its growth forecasts for the next three years. The report also predicts that television�s ever-increasing share of expenditure will finally peak next year after two decades of growth. The internet will continue to enjoy double digit growth, but UK predictions that it will leave outdoor advertising and radio advertising behind will not come true globally in the next three years, according to Zenith�s findings.

The Zenith report forecasts 5.4 per cent growth for global ad spend in 2005, up from a previous forecast of 5 per cent. Next year�s 5.8 per cent growth figure has been revised upwards to 6.5 per cent. In 2007, when Zenith was predicting 5.8 per cent growth, the forecast has been revised to 6.1 per cent. The global TV advertising market will be worth $145 billion this year and newspapers $114.8 billion, while the internet will be worth $14.8 billion, according to Zenith�s revised figures.... more
