hile the media is all focussed on the hullabaloo surrounding the launch of new channels by industry biggies, a new channel has quietly hit the airwaves. Available only in Delhi and the NCR, Total TV is owned by Total Telefilms. "Total TV is a unique concept in the Indian satellite broadcasting scene," claims Vinod Mehta, director, Total TV. "It is the first Indian channel concentrating its coverage on a certain region."

Total Telefilms is promoted by Om Prakash Chautala�s close associate Vinod Mehta (who runs a local newspaper in Sirsa, Haryana) and his textiles exporter friend Anil Gaba from Panipat. "We have received excellent response from the advertising fraternity and more than 20 advertisers have already come on board," says Mehta. The channel is targeting a revenue of Rs 15 crore in the current financial (2005-06). Being a city-centric channel, Mehta believes that Total TV has no competition to speak of.... more
